The horizontal axis below represents certainty. The black dotted line represents the risk premiums you pay. The vertical axis represents the potential range of cost outcomes. The further to the left of the spectrum, the higher the degree of price certainty and the lower the range of cost outcomes. Moving right, the degree of price certainty drops and the range of cost outcomes grows.
